Current Concierge offers House Watch Services in Sarasota Florida but specializes in Palmer Ranch and Village Walk House Watch & House Sitting Services. It all started when my parents decided to downsize and move to Village Walk in Palmer Ranch. At the time I was working in Alaska in the Summers as the manager of a remote fishing lodge and in the winters snow-birding in sunny Sarasota. I noticed a need for house sitting and home watch services in the Palmer Ranch community as well as other concierge services and started to help my neighbors and family friends around the community. Sometimes it was simple things like waiting for furniture deliveries, power washing or setting up house cleanings. That first winter I not only services house watch clients but also did some event planning as well as helped plan a wedding right here at Village Walk.

While I sit in my climate controlled office in Sarasota, Florida I drift off into my screen-saver and think back to my summers guiding in anglers in Alaska. One of many survival stories come to mind when I think about taking on large tasks that seem impossible to finish. While setting up a spike-camp 12 miles back into remote bush country I got caught in a white out on my way back to camp and could not see where I was . With daylight quickly fading, I knew that I had to continue to take small steps in the right direction so we did not have to sleep in cold bear country.
Instead of focusing on getting back to camp, I did exactly what I do for large tasks that come through my concierge desk…break down the goal of getting back to camp into smaller tasks that are within reach and even easy to accomplish. From one land mark to another I kept my wits about me, and even enjoyed my adventure along the way.

This morning I made my first BubbleTweet inviting viewers to watch our new YouTube video about our Concierge Lifestyle Management Company. BubbleTweet seems like a great way to go beyond typed messages and allows viewers to connect with us through a short video clip. BubbleTweet works along side the crazy popular instant messaging program “Twitter” filling a need in the “Twitterverse” (Twitter Universe) by allowing videos to be “Twitted”; this is a great development for all people using Twitter. Building and Sharing YouTube Videos
It might not be the traditional way of doing it, but this is how I built my video about our concierge and lifestyle management company.
First, I used PowerPoint to construct the slides that would eventually be my movie. I then saved the slides as JPG’s on my desktop and then copied the JPG’s to imovie on my Mac. On imovie I could add music, play with the timing that each slide is displayed, as well as add effects like Ken Burns. From there I exported the movie to my desktop and then finally uploaded it to my YouTube Video.

Sounds complicated but actually it was very easy. What are the advantages of doing this? More on that after I go to the gym.
For some reason the photo that I sent from my email to Twitpic was there for about a day and then it mysteriously disappeared? I think I will directly download photos or insert photo into wordpress by URL instead of sending from my phone or email.

Sarasota, Florida has a large population of Canadians and the Canadian Concierge Directory would probably agree with me when I say that many of those season residents could benefit from a local concierge service. They just launched a new website so I thought I would browse around and get to know what they are up to.
Mary Ann Westendorf and Amanda O’Reilly, co-founders of the newly launched Canadian Concierge Directory recently said that: “It is our goal that our directory and virtual trade association will create more public awareness as well as unity and camaraderie within the industry”. I share the same goal and look forward to connecting with The Canadian Concierge Directory and helping add to the comradeship in our industry. I am not sure how yet, but I plan to keep an eye on their new site until figure that out.
