Personal Concierge - Lifestyle Managment - Defining our Profession
As I sit here and watch the first episode of “V” on ABC, I start reading a UK based website called “Bon Vivant” that offers services for personal concierge and lifestyle management. The reason I chose to visit a concierge website from “the other side of the pond” was because of a phone conversation I had today with Katharine Giovanni from Triangle Concierge and the International Concierge Errand Association(ICEA). We started talking about how the International Concierge Errand Association was voting to change their name to the International Concierge Lifestyle Management Association. I learned that in Europe the term “Lifestyle Management” is more widely used when talking about concierge services. In Spanish the word “concierge” translates to janitor and lifestyle management seems to fit better to describe a personal assistant or concierge. I plan to continue writing about this concept of Lifestyle Management in the future and do my part in educating the public about the meaning of this term and this wonderful profession we are in.
